1. You Are Not Forgotten

Key Scripture: Psalm 34:18 – "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Lesson Focus:

  • God sees your pain.

  • You are never alone, even when people fail you.

  • Jesus identifies with suffering (Isaiah 53).

Discussion/Reflection:

  • How has God been near in moments of pain?

  • Write a letter to yourself from God's perspective.

2. You Are Worthy and Loved

Key Scripture: Romans 8:38–39 – "Nothing can separate us from the love of God."

Lesson Focus:

  • Abuse does not define your worth.

  • You are loved as you are.

  • God created you with value (Psalm 139:13-14).

Activity:

  • Mirror exercise: speak affirmations using Scripture.

3. God Is Your Safe Refuge

Key Scripture: Psalm 46:1 – "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

Lesson Focus:

  • God offers safety and peace.

  • His presence is a place of rest and renewal.

Discussion:

  • What does "refuge" look like for you spiritually and emotionally?

4. Healing Takes Time, and God Walks With You

Key Scripture: Jeremiah 30:17 – "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds," declares the Lord.

Lesson Focus:

  • Healing is a journey, not an instant fix.

  • God is patient and present.

  • There’s no shame in needing time to heal.

Reflection:

  • Journal prayers for healing and patience with yourself.

5. God's Justice Will Prevail

Key Scripture: Isaiah 61:1–3 – "...He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted... to proclaim freedom for the captives..."

Lesson Focus:

  • God is just and will bring justice.

  • You are not powerless in God’s eyes.

  • He defends the vulnerable.

Activity:

  • Write down your story as a testimony of survival and God's justice.

6. Forgiveness — A Step Toward Freedom (Not Excusing Abuse)

Key Scripture: Ephesians 4:31–32 – "Be kind and compassionate... forgiving each other, just as Christ forgave you."

Lesson Focus:

  • Forgiveness is about releasing your burden, not forgetting or excusing sin.

  • Boundaries are biblical.

  • God will deal with abusers (Romans 12:19).

Important Note: This lesson should be introduced only when the woman is ready and safe.

7. Your New Identity in Christ

Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 – "If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come..."

Lesson Focus:

  • You are not what happened to you.

  • God gives you a new name, a new future.

  • Restoration is part of God’s plan.

Activity:

  • Create a "New Identity" card with Scriptures and affirmations.

Biblical Women Who Overcame

Look at stories like

  • Hagar (Genesis 16): God sees the outcast.

  • Tamar (2 Samuel 13): Injustice does not silence your worth.

  • The Woman with the Issue of Blood (Mark 5:25–34): Jesus honors your faith and heals deeply.

  • Mary Magdalene (Luke 8:2): Delivered, restored, and chosen.
